Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

No. Rahangdale Psychiatry PLLC is a self-pay practice and does not currently accept insurance or participate in insurance panels. Payment is due directly from the patient. Superbills may be provided upon request for patients who wish to seek possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes information insurance companies may require for out-of-network reimbursement, including dates of service, fees paid, procedure codes, diagnosis codes, and provider information. Patients may submit superbills directly to their insurance company, but reimbursement is not guaranteed.

Do you provide telehealth?

Yes. The practice is primarily telehealth-based. Patients must be physically located in Massachusetts at the time of the appointment and must be in a private, safe location for the visit.

Do you treat ADHD?

Yes. The practice has a particular focus on adult ADHD evaluation and treatment. Evaluations are designed to be careful and comprehensive, with attention to symptoms, functioning, developmental history, psychiatric and medical contributors, rating scales, and treatment goals.

Do you prescribe stimulant medications?

Stimulant medications may be considered when clinically appropriate, but they are not guaranteed. ADHD treatment begins with diagnostic evaluation and shared decision-making. Treatment may include stimulant or non-stimulant medications, behavioral strategies, sleep and lifestyle interventions, therapy recommendations, or other supports depending on the clinical situation.

Can I transfer my existing ADHD medication to your practice?

Possibly, but transfer of care requires an initial evaluation and clinical review. Prior records, medication history, pharmacy history, and treatment response may be requested. Continuing a prior medication is not automatic and depends on clinical appropriateness, safety, and treatment planning.

What is included in the Comprehensive Adult ADHD Evaluation Package?

The Comprehensive Adult ADHD Evaluation Package is a psychiatric evaluation and treatment-planning process for adults seeking diagnostic clarity around ADHD. It may include pre-visit rating scales, a detailed clinical interview, assessment of developmental history and current impairment, screening for overlapping conditions, review of relevant prior records when available, and a feedback/treatment-planning visit.

This is not the same as formal neuropsychological testing.

Do you provide neuropsychological testing?

No. Rahangdale Psychiatry PLLC does not provide formal neuropsychological testing. If neuropsychological testing is clinically indicated, Dr. Rahangdale may recommend referral to an appropriate testing provider.

Do you provide disability evaluations or accommodation letters?

The practice does not provide disability-only evaluations or guarantee letters for school, work, testing accommodations, or disability benefits. Documentation may be considered only when clinically appropriate and after an established treatment relationship.

Do you treat anxiety, mood disorders, and depression?

Yes. In addition to ADHD, the practice provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management for anxiety, mood disorders, sleep difficulties, stress, and life transitions.

Do you provide therapy?

The practice provides psychotherapy-informed psychiatric care. Some visits may include supportive, behavioral, or insight-oriented elements, but the practice is not designed as a weekly psychotherapy-only practice. When dedicated psychotherapy is recommended, Dr. Rahangdale may help patients identify appropriate therapy referrals.

Do you see children or adolescents?

At this time, the practice is focused primarily on adults age 18+. This may change in the future.
